Can't connect to server. Confirmed by www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/portland.indymedia.orgDid they get the plug pulled by the global IMC? Run out of money? Run out of volunteers? Someone bomb their servers? (j/k) Only noticed it today, but someone said it's been down since yesterday.

If I was to guess someone got serious about investigating the "animal rights" clowns bragging about glueing locks of local businesses. It was obvious they were involved with portland indy, as friends or volunteers ....any critical comments about their "activism" vanished.Just like with the KBOTS.

Don't know about Animal Rights bs. It's possible. But the Bay Area animal right articles are still viewable. The first thing I think of is KBOO trying to keep it's site online. Someone at PDXIMC is probably an idiot.
Like the KBOTS they can't throw together a simple html maintenance page.

Whois on portland.indymedia.org
Am I reading this right? If the "bees" aren't responsive with legit concerns...say publishing mug shots of employees as an intimidation tactic...you can report this IMC to comcast abuse?
Lol. I hope someone did that. In retrospect login IP addresses might not have been a smart idea for the Kbot Indy Bees.

Whatever IMC problems have been, they can keep a website up and running. The fact it's down implies either they're behind on payments or they've been locked out. After what they did to Fitch I hope their servers burn.

32nd and Clinton? Yeah, vintage multiplex. Look it up at Portland Maps: Site Address 3209-3231 SE CLINTON ST
The guy probably rents there. And if that's infotage.net, we have another case of one "alternative" media owning by another "alternative" property without transparent disclosure:
The "Global Convergence Collective" is owned by Portland Indymedia. If the site does return, this is info that should be spammed on every fuckin page.
Oh, and I'm not too sure the registrar is going to be happy about that alias.

Hey that's good. Now wandering through the wayback machine, with some wicked Google cross referencing, will lead the savvy reader to this gem: e-person.name/search.aspx/xxxq/agent.8131@infotage.netNow we know at least one person responsible for content on Portland Indymedia. Jesse's address is slightly different. According to the Hightechsorcery whois at 31st and Clinton:

No, you were sorta right, he's got offices at the 3223 addy:
Lots of offices:
Did I mention offices?
Okay, that last is at the residence.
Shit fuck damn, how many LLC corporations does a "radical" need?

Now, now, Jesse's a man of many talents. When he's not fronting for ten zillion radical organizations while he coding his heart out, he's a "Nutritional Therapy Practitioner": radicalhealing.info/author/jesse/I'm not sure what a "Nutritional Therapy Practitioner" is, but I suspect it doesn't require a license. And yes it is the same Jesse; he's hosting radical healing on his infotage.net servers:

so the guy who owns portland indy is a quack? did i get that right? Quack might be a strong word, but it wouldn't be a total surprise. KBOO is full of people claiming to be things they're not: Theresa Mitchell and Lisa Loving claim to be journalists. Ani claimed to have a degree in anthropology(?). Whatsherface from Jersey claimed to be Irish. "NTP" sounds impressive, but is part of an emerging field that is mostly self policing at this stage. Never a good sign. There certifications aren't even standardized: nanp.org/hncb/becoming-board-certifiedAnd there was no license number on Jesse's website. Looks like it can be a legit thing, but is so easy to exploit and get paid anyway. All NTP may not be quacks, but it wouldn't shock me if Jesse is.

All I said was it was down! I had no idea this would happen! Jesse is clearly a responsible member of the community. (Fiscally, not ethically) . That rules out server payment. Unless he flaked. But I know for a fact they spam you reminders a full month in advance. I say he either took the site down voluntarily or was forced to.
