Ani and Lynn are talking to these people this morning:
I'm as much of a tree-hugger as the next Portlad leftist, and sorta assumed these were just another group charmed by Kboo who don't know what's going on. But then I looked at their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/CascadiaFD/info
"Enemies?" Not logging industry. Not land developers. Who talks like that?
Well, we know know who talks like that. People who haven't thought out wtf they're doing or are taking people for a ride.
For fairness their website is less crazy vague:
Compare websites:
www.forestdefensenow.com/
www.earthfirst.org/
earth-liberation-front.com/
One has a paypal link. The others don't. Do real radical environmental groups use paypal?
The website is owned by Meredith Cocks of Portland Rising Tide portlandrisingtide.org/
They don't seem crazy: www.katu.com/news/local/Hundreds-protest-plan-to-ship-fossil-fuels-on-Columbia-River-217256831.html
So maybe it's just the person who set up the Facebook page who's looking for "enemies". But, along with the Kboo interview, it set off flags.
Ani Raven Haines shared Cascadia Forestdefenders's photo.

Listen to Positively Revolting tomorrow morning, 8 - 9 am, for a discussion of logging our public lands. Oregon's timber wars are far from over. Join Lyn and myself as we speak with Kate from the Cascadia Forestdefenders about private logging of our public forests and what they are doing to stop it.
Your questions and comments are welcome- just call 503-231-8187.
It all happens on KBOO Community Radio, 90.7 fm, or online at kboo.fm.

Cascadia Forest Defenders is a direct action campaign committed to protecting Cascadia from enemies. We are currently running a tree sit in the White Castle Timber Sale and are campaigning to protect the Elliott Rainforest and O&C Lands in Oregon.

WHO ARE WE?
Cascadia Forest Defenders is a grassroots environmental organization committed to stopping the destruction of our sacred and living earth. We organize collective, nonviolent actions to disrupt the ecologically and economically exploitative industrial timber industry and the 1%. We also offer training and resources to other groups working for environmental and social justice.
