KBOO Community Radio The plan at this time is to have Hartmann on 4 - 5 pm weekdays, replacing the second airing of Democracy Now. This placement means we lose NO local programming, and that we are have only displaced a repeat of another syndicated program (Democracy Now can still be heard every weekday 7 - 8 am).

This is an experiment, with an end point in January, at which time the programs will be evaluated, and all factors taken into consideration.

Barbara Salomon I often listened to the 4pm Democracy Now. Also, my other favorite, Free Speech Radio News is also off now. We need more REAL news, not more dummed down corporate sponsored news. People can watch tv and get plenty of that. Yes, I have a voice, I am a member of KBOO and not happy about the liberal dem take over of a station I enjoyed for years.

Pacifica Foundation Radio Partners with NFCB To Distribute FSN Newscast to Hundreds of Stations

Berkeley, CA — Pacifica Foundation Radio, in collaboration with the National Federation of Community Broadcasters (NFCB) has reached an agreement with Feature Story News (FSN) to make available a 30-minute news broadcast, five days a week, starting on Monday September 30, 2013.

During the next few months, Pacifica will continue to dialogue with Free Speech Radio News (FSRN) on ways the valuable news service may be returned as a viable option for the hundreds of community radio stations around the country that affiliate with Pacifica Foundation Radio or the NFCB.

Free Speech Radio News DC editor Alice Ollstein will be a featured contributor for the FSN news broadcast on a temporary, contract basis, to keep providing listeners across the country with Capitol Hill reports. She is also actively working with the Free Speech Radio News collective on a path forward for the organization.

Additional options for the delivery of a complimentary daily 30-minute news module are also being explored by Pacifica, so stations may have additional choices in the near future.

FSN news programming will be available on both the PRX and Audioport distribution channels.

Pacifica Foundation Radio interim executive director Summer Reese comments: "I am very pleased to be able to offer our affiliated stations an option to continue daily 30-minute international newscasts as we continue to work with Free Speech Radio News to find a way to relaunch the program on a firmer financial footing.

BACKGROUND: - Feature Story News is an independent broadcast news agency, established in 1992 and now operating 17 news bureaus around the world. Anchored from studios in Washington DC, the broadcast will focus on the day's major international stories, with contributors from around the world.

Pacifica Foundation Radio operates noncommercial radio stations in New York, Washington, Houston, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area, and syndicates content to over 180 affiliates. It invented listener-supported radio.

Tom's post was in August at the fevered height of the Kbot hysteria. The Willamette Week article was already out. The Kbots were spamming Blue Oregon, and he was part of the conversation there. I don't see how he could have no idea what's going on if he's involved in Democratic politics.

And are you helping him with that? It's easy to email a link to this forum, SKFSK or any of the more mainstream outlets that have covered KBOO's head long dive into irrelevancy. If you know people who aren't informed, it's simple to fix. My friends are well informed and most have stopped giving KBOO money. The ones that haven't are hoping things improve, but are at least convinced not to volunteer in that toxic hell hole.
How did I do this? I send a link to the Willamette Week article, then to the stuff about Hadrian being kicked out. Then Lisa's insane accusations and the fact she's still a board member. Most are convinced by then. A partial history of the Fitch Witchhunt convinces the rest.

It's simple. The info is out now. There's no reason anyone involved with KBOO should not know by now. Except for people under Ani's control.
