Readers of the "yellow blog" might remember I'm the person whose proposal to test the Hartmann show one hour a day and measure the results was ultimately implemented by KBOO, after I had already left the station in disgust and publicly suggested that it might be damaging to Hartmann for his name to be associated with KBOO.
How ironic and rewarding it was to be the board operator on duty at XRAY Feb 21st, 2014 when XRAY first grabbed the live feed from the Thom Hartmann show and put it into the beta test stream for XRAY radio. I had a smile on my face as I brought up on "Portland air" the show I tried to reason with KBOO about.
You can listen to an entire schedule of talk and great music by going to xray.fm and registering for an account. Right now is a soft launch with the air signal on a test pattern and all the programming going only to the stream. When we go to the full launch next month the stream will be available without registration, and we'll be audible on the east side mostly at 91.1 fm.
There's a spacey loop playing now on 91.1 ... shortwave sounds, weird stuff, and some morse code. You might hear this on your car radio as you drive about town. The initial signal isn't strong enough to go inside buildings, but it's a start.
I thought I should post this as it's so funny and ironic.
