Mitchell definitely seems less energetic these days. Remember the Portland Mutual Aid group KBOO was helping promote?
They appear to be real and really helping people.
Don't know why they fell off KBOO's radar, but they're listed on Portland government website:
They even have a Twitter account, though activity has been low recently.
The only weirdness is their domain is registered in Ontario, Canada. Maybe the hosting was cheap.
Anyway, KBOO could return to boosting this signal and possibly help people. But mostly they're twittering spring fundraising spam...
looking back 20/20 at 2020 and the covid crisis
Others lambasted KBOO's professional posers. Skimming the dreck Andy Ngo wrote about the Portland aid groups kinda makes one wonder how much these people were set up to fail. or at least not supported enough.

Imagine: you have a socalled comminity radio station running on the fumes of it's past glories. because of the toxic work environment, loyalty has been selected over competence. now years later no one really knows how to get anything done in the real world. at least not as an organized group. but being invested as being THE community institution for news or what ever, you need to JUMP ON THE RELIEF BANGWAGON RIGHT NOW. but you can't lead it. because you can barely keep your crumbling station chugging along. no problem! you've been grooming activists for years to believe they are PART OF THE GREAT PORTLAND COMMUNITY THAT GETS SHIT DONE.
Enter Sophie Lord, Chloe Faison, Maya Edelstein and Molly Case, all veterans of Occupy.
im gonna choose to believe they THOUGHT they knew what they were doing and were giving the impression by either delusional people or bad actors they had a vast, diverse community who not only had their backs, but were experienced and knew what they were doing.
instead it looks like they found out the brutal way they were the latest cannonfodder in the fringe relevance wars. if KBOO was acting in good faith and full real people, there should have been plenty of hands, vehicles, warehouses(or at least garages) to help collect and distribute aid. In addition, being a RADIO STATION, KBOO should have been getting the word out 24/7, fukk regular programing. This was an emergency. Instead, this effort was pumped up for KBOO's ego boost then let down like so many before them.
the twitter account is dead. the website looks abandoned. the gofundme has been disabled.

its not just KBOO. The Portland Alliance, and to a lessor degree, Street Roots, have simular, cultures top heavy in platitudes and promises and low on follow through. the most extreme example of course is the local infamous portland indymedia , once more or less what it claimed to be, now a sewer of anti goverment conspiracy garbage.
the portland "radical" activist community had a golden chance to prove it WASNT full of fakes, scensters and grifters. all they had to do is prove they could do things better unlike the "liberals", like they've been snipping for decades. given the chance, THEY FAILED. SO FUKK EM.
NEVER FORGET THIS WAS THE YEAR THEY PROVED THEY EITHER HAD NO CONVICTIONS OR HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT.
future attempts at community should consider these warnings:
1. DO NOT EXPECT SUPPORT OR CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE ESTABLISHED "RADICAL" ORGANIZATIONS(with possible exception of RCA)
2. RELY ON YOUR OWN NETWORKS
3. BUILD SLOWLY
but maybe, biggest of all, ask yourself WHY WITH ALL THESE YEARS LONG EXPERIENCED ORGANIZATIONS ARE THEY LOOKING TO YOU TO DO ESSENTIAL WORK THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING ALREADY?
