Been thinking about how Theresa Mitchell personally, and KBOO generally targets people who won't follow the party line. This seems to happen in small groups where someone, anyone feels they're about to lose the tiny amount of power they have. We think Fitch, Hadrian, Ed, and Ben had it bad, lying, slander, phishing, and hacking attempts. But none of them had it as bad as Nick Cooney, an animal rights activist who was the target of lurid accusations he had to get a legal judgement to stop.
To this day, writers treat it as a situation with possible merit, when anyone with a brain can see it was something a con man called Adam Weissman set Cooney's ex-girlfriend Stephanie Wilson. She might have been involved in a cult, at least that's what her parents and Rick Ross think.
Cooney was lucky. But this also reminded me of Arthur Davis.
Lurid accusations, check.
No criminal charges, check.
Accuser lacking credibility(see no criminal charges) and being egged on by people with an agenda. Check.
No accountability from the organizations pushing these lies, check.
In the case of Cooney, people got the message, deleted most of the shit, but some material remains, oblivious of any sense of responsibility.
How is it people claiming to be dedicated to social justice convince themselves they can try to damage people's lives without consequences?
This is why, IMHO, Fitch needs to sue. KBOO did this to Arthur Davis. They'll just keep doing the same type of shit again and again until someone stops them.
The radical left scene in Portland is seriously screwed up and needs to get it's head out of it's collective ass. If it doesn't, it'll have no one to blame but itself when all it's institutions collapse.
In February of 2013, the U.S. Federal Court issued a judgement against Adam Weissman, finding him guity of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and conspiracy. You can view the judgment here. In the coming months, the Court will be issuing punitive and other damages against Adam Weissman. The amount of damages requested exceeds $300,000.
