It just got real.
As has been noted, Co$ opened a new Portland org in May, apparently part of a Portland scilon makeover:
tonyortega.org/2013/05/03/scientology-is-staking-everything-on-portland-like-it-actually-matters/comment-page-1/
The Portland Tribune seems to care. Or they care about CoS's money and have been taking it since at least 2009:
portland.indymedia.org/en/2009/07/393006.shtml
That's a good idea, what with Mitchell's spoonfed stories to Tribune reporter Steve Law. This week the Trib had one of those irritating inserts, paid for by the Church of Scientology.
This is unacceptable. Not only has the Portland org opened without protest, but the very paper spreading Kbot lies is taking money from the Church of Scientology.
And where's the legion? Local anon continues to be MIA. But we have a sneaky suspicion the creeps and kbots might have something to do with that.
Watch our friend Mike Tabor, aka Joe Anybody, try to wheedle info from Anon in 2008. He wrote an article on Indy about how "bizarre" Anon was:
portland.indymedia.org/en/2008/04/374680.shtml
The video:
Let it be known, the main issue "Joe" harped on was identity. When Anon tried to inform why, "Joe" just talked about his hippy glory days and how he was scared too. If he'd listened, he'd have learned about a destructive predatory incorporated cult that hides behind the law to retaliate against critics. That's completely different from law enforcement agencies acting illegally in secret, where, in theory, they're accountable to tax payers.
Tabor doesn't seem interested in the reason for the protest. Just who the protesters are.
Question: did he ever find out?
If he did, who did he tell?
We need information people:
Thread stickied until we have an answer.
This is serious business.

Scientology is Staking Everything On Portland Like It Actually Matters
HeberPosterFormer Scientology spokesman Mike Rinder has been using his blog to document just how desperate the church is getting as it pursues its “Ideal Org” strategy.
Church leader David Miscavige seems more determined than ever to raise money from church members in order to purchase and renovate downtown landmarks in cities around the world, even though they seem unneeded and then go largely empty. (Rinder documented just how empty in a remarkable story about one of the first Ideal Orgs, in Johannesburg.)
Years of effort goes into the fundraising and rehabbing of these buildings, and everything about these efforts suggest that Miscavige seems to believe that their grand opening ceremonies present huge public relations opportunities for Scientology, which has, in the last year, been suffering through the worst publicity of its existence.
In particular, the sheer panic that seems to be fueling next week’s opening at the newest Ideal Org in Portland, Oregon suggests that the church considers it a major make-or-break moment. And we have to wonder, does the church not realize that the outside world couldn’t care less?

Really Tribune, Are You This Desperate?
author: Damos Abadon e-mail:e-mail: koldphraust@hotmail.com
I'm writing this because i looked inside this weeks' edition of the Portland Tribune, & i find "personality test - courtesy of the Church of Scientology. WTF?!
I know the Portland Tribune is going through a tough time; all [print] papers are. I know that the Tribune had to cut it's circulation from twice to just once aweek last year. And i know that they're about to (or have recently) cut back even further.
But THIS?
Unless it was just that one box, this weeks' edition of the Portland Tribune (out Thursday July 23rd) all have copies of a personality (re. intel-fishing) test comprised of 200 questions on a pink sheet of paper & a [free postage] return address. the address belongs to the CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY OF PORTLAND. Soo apparently, the Tribune is in such dire straits that it feels it has to take advertising dollars from a so-call "church" which is already a proven scam & officially banned in atleast Germany. Add to that the idea that the Tribune is [seemingly] endorsing one religion over others, which i thought was kinda illegal for news papers to do, but i might be wrong on that.
Perhaps the chief editor at the Tribune is a brain-washed Scientologist as well, & he's simply showing his true colors, who knows. All i know is, from now on i'm going to be alot more skeptical of anything the Tribune prints.

<video> Independent Media Reports on the PDX Scientology Protest 4-12-08
author: Joe Anybody e-mail: iam@joe-anybody.com
Walking by the SW Portland, Church of Scientology I see a fairly good size protest going on
sign at protest 4-12-08
The 10 minute report is on Google (and it will also soon be on YouTube)
I wasn't wearing a mask when I filmed this. <FYI>
I didn't even know what this was going on or what all this was about, until I seen the gathering and started asking a few questions
The topic is rather new to me.
There are more Internet links in the video.
The little I learned by asking questions, seems interesting in regards to, some of the points the protesters are making about this Scientology group.
The fact that masks need to be worn to be anonymous and to protect from retaliation is biazarly unsettling!
The fact that this story isn't much in the corporate news is not shocking but worth mentioning.
The fact that the "going-ons" by the members of the church is being hidden and complaints that members cant get the truth out in the public makes me ask the question "what is really going on here... what is the truth that they (the church) does not want talked about?"
