feedback.pdxradio.com/topic/willamette-week-says-kpsu-pursuing-lpfm-spotwww.wweek.com/portland/article-20558-scoop_dude_shorty_ji.htmlfrom Willamette Week's "Scoop" column, 4/24/13: POWER UP: KPSU, the radio station at Portland State University, is looking to expand its reach. The station is raising money to purchase a low-powered FM signal via the Federal Local Community Radio Act of 2010, which made it possible for non-profit community-based radio stations to grab the slivers of airspace between all those Clear Channel stations. The 100 watt signal would take the station's signal off-campus and make it available to greater Portland, up to a 5-mile radius. To raise the money needed to purchase the signal and needed equipment, KPSU is holding a series of fundraising events thru May, including a latenieght criuse/concert aboard the Portland Spirit and a "car smash" at Slabtown in which patrons can pay up to $5 to bash a vehicle with a sledge hammer. {}{}{} Best, Mike [8)] Posted on April 26, 2013 - 01:25 PM #
