KBOO seeking Web/IT contractor
KBOO Community Radio in Portland, Oregon is looking for an IT Contractor to work with our organization 15 hours a week/$25 an hour providing on-site IT support as well as website maintenance support. Applications due by Monday July 7th.
Essential qualifications:
At least 5 years of general IT network and server maintenance and website administration;
experience with PHP, mySQL (LAMP server setup and maintenance);
experience in installation, maintenance, and upgrades in Drupal (6 & 7);
working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Linux command line;
knowledge of Windows ActiveServer, ability to maintain rack-mounted server and maintain LAN made up of Windows XP, 7 and 8 workstations;
clear written and spoken communication skills;
able to balance workload, deal with a large organization's needs and handle multiple tasks at once.

KBOO Website Administrator and IT Contract Description
hourly rate of $25 per hour, for an estimated 15 hours/week or an estimated $1500 per month.
Website administration (approx. 7 hours a week):
-administer Linux server and ensure smooth and continuous functionality
-install and maintain security system on the server including firewalls, traffic/IP monitoring, SSL, prevention of internal and external breaches of security, ensuring compliance with monthly site review by SecurityMetrics
-maintain backups of sites, including nightly backups of database, audio and code
-ensure continuous uptime of the website, including transfer to mirror site if server goes down
-install updates to software, and ensure that all updates are tested on a development server before syncing to live server
-respond to mission critical website concerns from staff concerns within eight hours, and resolve all issues as quickly as possible
-maintain a changelog of any changes and updates made to the site and server
-maintain domain, web hosting and registration information and track renewal dates
On-site IT (approximately 7 hours a week)
Maintain KBOO’s Local Area Network of staff and volunteer computers, including security, firewalls and software updates
-provide support for staff and volunteer computer issues and maintain a problem log to ensure timely response to requests
-install and update operating systems on computers; install and maintain hardware including routers and switches
-compile a schematic of the Local Area Network, and document any changes
General (approximately 1 hour a week)
-provide a monthly report to KBOO staff and Board listing all tasks completed as well as prioritized 'to-do' list outlining upcoming tasks
