not to cast aspersions on kboo's transparent process /snark but looking at figures for the drive they HAVE discovered time travel at least 3 minutes ahead of my reality donations at 1:30 system monitor 1:27 kay maybe they're estimated and rounded up to the next dollar/ time increment of something or something and yes i double checked my system against time and temp matches perfectly timetemperature.com so...just wondering how that happens

Better yet, if you donate $90 to KBOO, you can get a copy of "That Shirt"!
I guess Joe Uris is now OK with a shirt that he had earlier said whose language was just like saying "Crazy Radical Black Killers, Pimp Whore Mexicans". It was all Fitch's fault, of course.
I guess "That Shirt" is OK now, now that Joe is on the KBOO board.

The pledge drive is schedule for 17 days and needs to raise $125,000. That works out to about $7,352 a day. Day one seemed to be a little under, but not incredibly so, day 2 looks to be about the same. Still time for things like public affairs day and grateful dead day to bring in some coin. Of course Sundays will do horribly as they always do.
Be interesting to see if this pace keeps up.
As for That Shirt, well they bought them, of course they're going to sell them. It's a financial crisis, can't let hypocrisy get in the way!

Those T-shirts should be donated to Good Will! Or Street Roots! I predict another KBOO thread at Portland Indymedia soon. I wonder how that happens...

Is the drive not going as well as hoped? Maybe they'll have to beg from some big donors? The Russian Mob? Hope someone with KBOO in their will kicks the bucket in less than 10 days? kboo.fm/falldrive2013 Donations as of 10/17/2013, 10:00 am: Drive Goal: $125,000 $53,278 It's a not a complete disaster yet. But half the time's gone and they're not halfway to the goal... Wonder how much leeway they have with that goal?

Not to worry, Respected Traitor Readers!
We are going to contribute hundreds of stotinki to KBOO, once a few of our "projects" come to fruition!
The membership drive is in good hands!

PARC Resources liked this post. Didn't the KBOO Kbots throw out the Strategic Plan?

I don't have an PhD in Anthropology or anything but I think the drive is 17 days. Thurs 10/10-Sat. 10/26. Halfway through would be 8.5 days, which would be Friday 10/18 about mid-day. So they still have 24 hours to get to the halfway point. Raising $53k so far is a good pace. Not impossible they get to $62.5k I'd be surprised if they keep that pace up next week, when everyone gets hit with pitching for the second full week in a row.

I'll believe it when I see it. Agree about the pace. One week, maybe. Two? Pushing it.

they were raising the over 7k each day needed to meet the goal, they even made it past Sunday able to stay on pace, which is a huge accomplishment. Of course, the drive has officially been on the air for over a week, no surprise that the donations are slowing down. Don't worry, we've got a staff and board that has all these new ideas about how to engage with the community. They've been waiting to try them for years, because, um, well I don't know why, but rest assured it's not the staff's fault.

Agree what they've accomplished is amazing...considering how insane they've acted out on the Internet.
It comes down to censoring the website and Facebook page so no member outside the Kbot club knows what's happening. When it all comes crashing down expect to hear variations of "I had no idea..." from donors and underwriters.

No doubt they'll get close to or make goal. They're going to have a post victory bounce from the party faithful, and Lynn's hard work in development will still pay dividends for another six to nine months.
Watch the long term trend, by a year from now if anyone on the inside shares actual membership levels, and once the poor programming continues to turn people away ... that's when the true trends will be shown.
But remember, it can take a few more years to get rid of the reserves, and Ani is always on the lookout for a lonely old cat lady who will leave her estate to KBOO.

KBOO hasn't reached close to $125,000 during a drive since 2008. In that time KBOO's membership dropped by over 1000 and I'm pretty sure Andrew said that membership was closer to 4000 than it is 5000 right now. Something like 4300 last I heard. I'm sure membership increased after all the public bashing and smearing of the Executive Director though! This drive is having a strong start, which is encouraging for KBOO. But it is also usual for the drive to slow down after the first few days. That's why KBOO quite the longer drives, they didn't bring in enough extra to compensate for the staff and volunteer time being extended and people getting worn out. Andrew usually keeps some tricks up his sleeve for the last week to help spike things. I'm guessing that KBOO will bring in closer to $108,000 which would still be better than the last 4 years of fall drives.

At 10:15 today they have $58,076. They have an hour to get 4.5k and halfway there. Not gonna happen. Unless they have a sugar daddy in the wings. But they're gonna wait til near the end to hit that one up.
