After checking some links , it turns out the signatories of Mitchell's misguided petition calling for the board to resign can be viewed.

It is very disheartening to hear that two people have done a power grab. This is contrary to what KBOO is all about. I support removing Ruban Lawrence and Danielle Parks. Support the bylaws!

It's incredibly sad to witness as these events have unravelled. I've watched long-tim3 volunteers separate themselves completely from the station because the stress of this has been so overwhelming to them. As a volunteer, I share this sentiment, and have found myself dreading my shifts because the tension within the station is nauseating-- the opposite of why I volunteer, which is to give into a community that provides a safe and accepting space for those of us of disenfranchised demographics. And as someone who has strongly urged many listeners to donate to the station under the promise that their donations were going to a productive, urgent, and transparent causes, I feel I've broken that promise. This state of inner turmoil is disheartening. I hope to see it resolved before more personal ties to the station are cut.

Thank you to the organizers of this petition for bringing this situation to the attention of members and calling for a special membership meeting. I don't currently know enough about the current situation to decide whether or not the people in question should be removed from the board, However I do strongly support KBOO's process of calling a special membership meeting for this situation and other important disputes such as this. KBOO's status as a membership organization with empowered members and volunteers is crucial to its survival.

Letting consultants run KBOO did not work the last time we had to go through this. I guess they mean well, bless their hearts, but "professionalism" does not replace member ownership.

I am alarmed by what has happened to Ani Haines at KBOO(ed: anyone paying attention would know it was only a matter of time). Having been along time listener to her excellent radio spot this is quite disturbing. I have also been a member, but not sure I can continue to support this turn of KBOO into something I no longer recognize.

I have been a member / volunteer / show host for 11 years and I have never seen anything this horrible from the board. The board president and vp have WAY overstepped their authority and need to be removed immediately so we can restore some order to the station.

as a longtime supporter of kboo COMMUNITY radio, i am horrified to learn about the hostile takeover of this organization. The “acting” directors need to be ejected from the positions they are using with abuse of power. Ani Haines has been a critical and tireless staff member in support of kboo for years and the best face and welcoming and informative voice on air and in the station! delphine was as well and i want them safely returned to their positions: they are inspirational to our beloved community and are deeply missed.

Longtime KBOO member, donor, and programmer. Not sure of things as I'm outside the whole thing but a meeting and a vote sounds democratic to me, so I'm signing to further proper process not necessarily bc I feel I am taking sides. I dont have enough info, although it does sound really bad and sorry to hear all the good-hearted foks working so hard at KBOO are suffering with this. I've known Ani for more than a decade and they seem to me to have tremendous integrity, so the situation does sound bad, and if by signing this petition I'm leaning on taking sides then I guess that's ok for me.

Holey Moley--but not the KBOT one....there's a very lulzy comment on the petition: - The sad but shocking truth is that Ani Haines is the Harvey Weinstein of KBOO. This petition is the same old propaganda Ani's wife has presented every time the underhanded and illegitimate control of KBOO by Ani, her friends and her **s buddies. is threatened. The problem is that someone didn't want to be Ani's **s buddy. They complained. Ani was investigated. In the face of the damning facts found, Ani had no choice but to resign. Even so, her **s buddies what to bring her back and keep their radio club (pretending to be community radio) intact. The real interest is Roger Noehren. Noehren founded City Bikes worker co-op and soon after hired Timothy Calvert, who also founded the collective Laughing Horse Books. Both spaces were understood to be leftist/liberal spaces with safe space policies.
Both spaces were used as platforms to host and promote RWNJ/Tea Party conspiracies, because both Noehren and Calvert were exposed by Rose City Antifa as Holocaust Deniers.
RCA staged a boycott of City Bikes thanks to Calvert's participation in the Portland 9/11 Truth Alliance.
Roger Noehren RWNJ/Nazi connections are less conspicuous but you can see him whine about the RCA boycott here:

The best decision he ever made was hired a Holocaust denier who poses as a left radial. Okay.
Noehren comments on the Powell's book website are an insight into the mind of a conspiracy nut, as well as plug Laughing Horse Books as the Holocaust denial loons bookstore as well as KBOO radio for plugging this swill(three guesses whose program he was listening to...):
Remember, Laughing Horse books and KBOO are supposed to be radial left/liberal spaces....who rolled out the welcome mat?
Theresa Mitchell is/was a member of the same right wing conspiracy group Calvert participated in and Noehren supported, the Portland 9/11 Truth Alliance. Noehren has been indifferent to the issue of Holocaust denial and antisemitism in left spaces and there can only be one explanation:
Like Calvert, Noehren is a Holocaust denier. To make matters worse, Noehren is from Germany, making his pretense to not understand why this is a problem in left spaces a baldfaced lie. And his attempt to get RCA to out themselves more than a little disturbing.
So that's at least one tinfoil, conspiracy Holocaust denying creep who was an early signatory on Mitchell's petition.
When a Holocaust denier thinks your petition is a good thing, you have to stop and wonder why.....obviously KBOO was being used to push this crap too.
You also have to wonder why a crack journalist like Mitchell can't figure this out for herself.

I invite Board President Ruban Lawrence and Board Vice President Danielle Parks to publicly release an explanation of their actions since January 2019. I believe that a membership meeting should be held, and am alarmed by these reports made by the staff, but would value more information and transparency about what has been going on from the perspective of the board.

Every few years, some opportunist sees KBOO as a plump low hanging fruit, ready to pick for their own special ends. KBOO is a station that belong to the members, no one else, for the benefit of the community at large, not a dream project of a few. I worked on an official KBOO work-group that parsed the bylaws several years ago, and NO ONE intended to endow the Board Pres. and VP with these extraordinary powers. This is a power grab.

As a long time member, volunteer, and former employee, I am saddened and appalled by the takeover by Board members. When directors ignore organizational bylaws and cause harm to our community institutions, they should be removed.

As a KBOO member, it's important that KBOO bylaws are respected and dutifully administered. Ruban Lawrence and Danielle Parks should be removed from their positions for damaging KBOO as an institution and the community KBOO serves.

The actions and attitudes of Board President Ruban Lawrence and Board Vice President Danielle Parks. ( firing a Black woman, bizarre power grabs, and undermining employees and ther union) are not in line with the values of KBOO or its members. They shouldn’t have to be reminded of this, but this is a community radio station not a corporate radio station. I became a member of KBOO because of the meaningful inclusion of diverse and radical voices—not all of them I agree with.—especially from Black, Brown, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.. The actions of these individuals, and other board members who support them, is harmful to these communities—many of those I’m also a part of. If they do not resign immediately, I’ll terminate my membership!

From the information given, it appears that this situation may deserve broader attention. Perhaps an information session, rather than starting out in fighting positions, might be more productive.

Since joining and beginning to volunteer in January, I have been confused and frustrated by the lack of proper staff, the disappearing staff, and lack of explanations or organization to manage the changes. I remember being confused at the removal of Rachel Hartley, from PM News Director, and wondered how in the world the station goes about fulfilling these job positions, because it is not discussed, sought, or visible that any action has been taken to resolve whatever issues have been causing disruptions to the daily programming. I don't even volunteer on some days, because of a particular male volunteer, whom I've heard I'm not the first female he has had issues with. I have not felt very comfortable if another issue were to arise, since Ani left. I trusted her to appropriately resolve social/people issues. Nobody even has the same story on why Rachel Hartley was let go, when I have asked, which is confusing to a new volunteer.

If you are reading, what you experienced was an attempt at isolation and grooming. The fact the guy is question is still around means Ani was using his presence to play you. Sorry)

The current SM have a problem with KBOO. I understand this. As a person of mixed racial ancestory, I disagree with the racist hiring of the stated affirative action program, but I support the positive labor message of KBOO. What is going on needs to be discussed with the memborship. Please continue.

This is outrageous. I've belonged to KBOO since 2006, such a vital resource to the community. I like it the way it has been and is. We live in a time when independent voices are always in danger of attracting infiltrators. Thanks for getting up this petition to save KBOO for us.

One reason a former station manager planned to fire the whole staff -- with plans to rehire all by Ani, was that Ani was such a pain in the butt. It took more than half a decade to finally get rid of her. Good riddance.

Union-busting Ani Haines is gone. She was what, one of the three remaining union members of the station. She was the shop-steward. And yet she busted the union by resigning. Why didn't she get the union to help her? Because her real agenda was to bust the union, overthrow the board, and to openly be the evil queen she has long been behind the scenes. But really Ani -- you needed to bust the union for that?

This petition is the same old propaganda Ani's wife has presented every time the underhanded and illegitimate control of KBOO by Ani, her friends and her **s buddies. is threatened. The problem is that someone didn't want to be Ani's **s buddy. They complained. Ani was investigated. In the face of the damning facts found, Ani had no choice but to resign. Even so, her **s buddies what to bring her back and keep their radio club (pretending to be community radio) intact. Members need to be informed and resist these efforts by Ani's main **s-buddy, who would only continue to **s up KBOO.

Why this thread? One day the scales will fall from many of these people's eyes. The lies can't go on forever. Human beings don't like to be wrong and KBOO seems to attract people unwilling to face or learn from their mistakes. This archives how easy it was for Mitchell rally over 500 people based on hysteria, lies, innuendo, exploiting people's personal trust in her and her brand.
A few go on record saying they aren't sure about the facts but yeah sure maybe a meeting is a good idea. But maybe they should have told Mitchell that directly? Instead of going along with an obvious play to regain control of the station. Individuals admit they are signing because they want Hippy Radical Fem Weinstein Barbie (Ani) back.
Is that what all 500 of you really want? One day a good many of these folks will look back and cringe at how easily they were played.
